The area surrounding the Pine Grove Schoolhouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, however, the designated area went “unmarked” until recently. In early 2020, the Society was finally able to post a marker through funding by a $1,100 grant from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation, Syracuse, NY. The Avon Congregational Church in the center of Avon received one also. Thanks to Avon Public Works for installing the sign. Please enjoy the sign as you drive by and through that intersection.
