An Avon Tobacco Farm, c. 1901.

A rare view of a shade tobacco farm. Three people stand at the end of the path. Shade-grown tobacco produced an excellent leaf for cigar wrappers. This photo was important enough for the Avon Congregational Church members to include in a small souvenir album that they gave their pastor, the Rev. Samuel Fisk, in 1902. Avon Congregational Church Collection.
