Unearthing History: The LIDAR Revolution in Earth Surface Mapping

The LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging using lasers for 3D scanning, Revolution in Earth surface mapping, presented by Will Ouimet, Associate Professor, Department of Geosciences and Geography, University of Connecticut.

Professor Ouimet participated in the discovery of the Brain D. Jones site and has since produced LIDAR images of the dig site, extending out further to show where the potential whole site is located.  He will also explain the techniques LIDAR uses for locating historical human settlements and land use patterns.
