Built in 1823 as a one-room schoolhouse, the Avon Historical Society dismantled it in 1982 and rebuilt it at its current location in 1985 as a museum and archival storage space. In a long-term partnership with the Town of Avon, we have carefully re-created it as a modern museum to showcase Avon’s history.

Thanks to generous donors, foundations, corporations, and individuals, this new chapter in Avon’s long story will feature fresh new exhibits, displays of artifacts, and an outdoor visitors’ space perfect for residents and tourists.
