Description

In partnership with canal expert, Carl Walter, the Simsbury Free Public Library published nine town maps of the Farmington Canal where it passed through Connecticut. The Avon map notes various features that still remain or were once there (i.e. culverts, bridges, etc.) with a narrative about the need for the canal, its construction, and financing. Photos included from the 1930s to today.
