Last month The Northwest Community Bank Foundation awarded a $1,000 grant to the Avon Historical Society toward the creation of interpretive history panels in their new museum opening in 2024. The “Avon History Museum” will be at 8 E. Main Street (Route 44) in a 200-year-old one room schoolhouse currently under major renovation. It will contain wall panels and artifact displays covering over 400 years of the history of the Town which was first called Nod, then Northington and finally Avon. Presenting the check to Terri Wilson, president of the Society, is Loren Amico-Clarke, Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager in Avon.
