Race in America: From the Civil War to 21st Century America
Spend the evening of August 11 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm exploring the depths of American agitation, the challenge of race during the Civil War era, and the 21st-century roots that continue to bind us to our past. It will be an in-person event, held at the Avon Congregational Church, 6 West Main St., Avon, CT 06001
This Zoom event called “Race in America: From the Civil War to 21st Century America” will feature special appearances by noted period reenactors Howard Wright as Abraham Lincoln and Michael Crutcher as Frederick Douglass. It will be moderated by Prof. Matthew Warshauer from Central CT State University.
