BUY A BRICK FOR AVON’S NEW MUSEUM
Schoolhouse No. 3 is transforming into a new museum soon!
Since 2018, and through the pandemic, The Avon Historical Society and the Town of Avon have been partners in the renovations of the now 200-year-old Schoolhouse No. 3 located at 8 East Main Street (Route 44) in the center of Avon. Funding for the exterior renovations is secured thanks to donations from private donors, grants, and the Town of Avon. The work will begin very soon!
The next big step will be to install a professionally curated set of exhibits in the interior. The Society has hired a firm from Fairfield, CT, to create exhibit spaces, interpretive signage, and interactive areas.
To pay for this portion, the Society is announcing the launch of a BUY A BRICK fundraiser, as outlined below. We encourage you to consider buying a brick, or two, to have placed in a lovely seated area adjacent to the new museum when it opens in 2024.
Here are the details:
Let’s transform this 200-year-old schoolhouse into a new museum featuring Avon’s rich history. Located in Avon’s original center, with a grand opening planned in 2024, this new museum will be accompanied by a brick path and a sitting area.
